De-Cat (removing catalytic convertor)

Removing the catalytic convertor is a popular modification that on many cars releases power and improves economy.

De-Cat Pipe
At autotechnik we can fabricate De-Cat pipes for most applications. Made in mild or stainless steel our de-cat pipe will come complete with the correct lamda probe bosses.

Will the Check Engine Light come on?
On many models removing the catalytic convert will cause the check engine light to come on permantly. For many applications autotechnik can remap the ECU to allow cars with no catalytic converts to run without the check engine light coming on. The check engine light will show all other normal issues with the engine.

What about MOTs?
All cars registered since 1992 are required to have a catalytic convert fitted to pass the MOT. Our decat pipes are made to allow the original Cats to be re-fitted easily.
